Community Impact Stories
Here’s a great story: we’ve proudly invested well over $2.5M into local community projects and we’re not stopping there. On top of that, we invested in a Community House for all, creating a space where everyone belongs. We partner with local organisations and the business sector to resource and grow in the community space, including funding our Community Partnerships Lead role to drive even greater impact. We love sharing the stories of how our investment helps the community thrive.

Care where it's needed most
When people are doing it tough, practical help can mean everything. That is the work happening every day at Community Care Centre Ballarat, where local Rotary groups have come together to create one central place for donated goods to be collected, sorted and passed on to people who need support. The centre helps people experiencing homelessness, vulnerability or the sudden loss of household items after hardship or crisis. Community Bank Buninyong’s Community Partnerships Lead

Safer jumps for local kids
For young athletes learning to high jump, confidence really matters. So does knowing there is a safe place to land. That is why Buninyong Little Athletics Club brought a very practical and very important project to SparkTank; new high jump mats to help keep local children safer as they train, compete and build their skills. Community Bank Buninyong was proud to support the project through SparkTank funding, helping the club upgrade equipment that plays a big role in both safe

Faster care for wildlife
When wildlife is injured, the first few hours can make all the difference. For the team at Ballarat Wildlife Hospital, having the right equipment close by means injured animals can be assessed sooner, treated faster and given a better chance of returning to the wild. That is why Community Bank Buninyong backed the hospital through SparkTank, where the project stole hearts and took home $10,000 towards a portable X-ray machine. The remainder of the funding was provided by the

History through young eyes
Young people are helping shape how history is used to explore the issues that matter to them today. At Sovereign Hill Museums Association, students aged 13 to 18 have taken part in Teen Time Travellers, a student-led program designed to connect Ballarat’s 1850s history with contemporary conversations about discrimination, gender, culture and the environment. The program was pitched by students in 2024 and developed as a way to better understand how Sovereign Hill can support

Backing Buninyong’s digital community
Community Bank Buninyong customers can proudly stand behind an $8,500 investment to support the redevelopment, strategic planning and sustainability of the new Love Buninyong website, helping strengthen a key digital platform for the town. The project is designed to create a more connected and sustainable online space centred on Buninyong, where residents and visitors can learn about local activities, events and businesses. Alongside the direct funding contribution, the proje

Delivering uplifting music to the community
Ballarat Choral Society has brought major classical works to local audiences with support through Community Bank Buninyong, helping the choir deliver performances of music by Dvořák and Mozart at a high standard. The support helped cover one of the project’s major costs by enabling the choir to engage eight soloists. That gave the group the opportunity to take on challenging and uplifting repertoire and share it with the community in two different environments. For Ballarat C

Little Shed, Big Difference
Sometimes the most practical support can make the biggest difference. Thanks to Community Bank Buninyong, Yarrowee Leigh Catchment Group now has a new garden shed to store its tools and resources in one central location, making life that little bit easier for the volunteers who care for our local environment. The shed has been erected at the City of Ballarat native nursery in Wendouree, giving the group a secure and accessible space for equipment used by its member groups acr

Twilight Talks Spark Curiosity
Community Bank Buninyong is proud to support the Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute’s 2026 Twilight Talks program, helping a much-loved community series continue to inform and inspire.
