The magic keeps going

Ask a teenager what they learned at a leadership summit and you might expect a shrug. Not MMF students.
Our 2026 Magic Moments students are home we had the pleasure of hosting them and their families at a homecoming reunion. It was part debrief, part celebration, part very loud catch-up (even with a song!).
Each year, Community Bank Buninyong supports local secondary school students to attend the Magic Moments Foundation's Youth Leadership and Business Summit, a five day residential program covering leadership, communication, financial literacy and the things that do not appear on any school timetable but shape a young person all the same.

Here is the part we love most about this program. Magic Moments doesn't send young people off for five days and wave goodbye. Once a student has been through the summit, they can go back. As a Graduate, continuing their own learning. And then as a Youth Coach, supporting the next group of nervous participants walking in the door.
Our Community Partnerships Lead, Kelly Bevan, went along to this year's summit and saw it up close. She also picked up a second job title along the way, taking the decks as DJ Kel in the Grad Room.
"You cannot describe it properly until you have stood in that room. These young people back each other completely. The older ones look after the new ones without being asked. I came home genuinely proud that we help make it happen," Kelly said.
Supporting young people to attend the summit is about pathways. It is about a student seeing growth they had not considered, or putting their hand up for a leadership role at school, or simply believing they are the kind of person who become something. That impact does not just stay with the student. It flows back into classrooms, sporting clubs, workplaces and community groups.
To this year's students: welcome home. We cannot wait to see what you do next.
