Scholarships Open Doors

Last year we supported Federation University Australia through scholarship funding that helps removes barriers to tertiary education for students.
The Community Bank Buninyong Scholarships helped cover study-related costs that may otherwise prevent students from pursuing further education particularly those from low socio-economic backgrounds or regional areas.
In 2025, Community Bank Buninyong scholarships helped local students realise academic paths by providing financial support to those who may otherwise be unable to pursue tertiary education.
Delivered in partnership with the Federation University Foundation, the program specifically supported students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and regional communities by assisting with the costs associated with higher education. It may have been tuition fees, textbooks, travel or technology support allowing recipients to focus more on their learning and less on the financial stress of study.
One 2025 recipient said,
“This support provides encouragement and a rare opportunity for future students like myself to pursue our passions with the knowledge that our community stands behind us.”
The program not only helped students access quality education, but also inspired a sense of belonging and community connection proving that when local people are backed by their local bank, incredible things are possible.
